Major Russian Attacks Disrupt Electricity Across Ukraine's Capital

Power facilities under attack in the region
Ukraine's power facilities have come under escalating attacks in the past few days

During the night, Moscow's aerial assaults have resulted in blackouts in extensive areas of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

A number of civilians were injured while local people in the city's east were left without electricity and dealt with interruptions to drinking water, according to local authorities.

Meanwhile, a minor was fatally injured in a separate Russian drone strike in the southeastern region in the country's south-east, based on information from area administrators.

Moscow has escalated attacks on power infrastructure over the past few days, while Ukrainian leadership has requested "real steps" from partner nations to exert influence on Moscow.

"What is required is not window dressing but decisive action - from the US, the EU and the Group of Seven - in delivering protection systems and applying sanctions," he wrote in a online statement.

Authorities reported that numerous aerial vehicles and over thirty rockets attacked energy facilities, describing such assaults as "cynical and calculated" and against "critical infrastructure" as temperatures become colder.

Government representatives said Moscow was "conducting extensive attacks" and repair crews were striving to repair systems.

A wave of strikes hit electrical systems and apartment buildings in Kyiv.

Five out of the nine people injured in the attacks on the city have been taken to hospital, according to municipal representatives.

Area administrators said the city came under significant strikes overnight. A young boy was killed and several individuals were hurt.

The attacks follow evenings of bombing campaigns in the territory, sections of which are occupied by invading troops.

The whole nation is on alert for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are more difficult to detect.

National leaders told journalists that Moscow was purposely seeking to destroy the country's energy grid, with assaults already affecting gas facilities.

Officials stated energy workers and authorities were anticipating more assaults.
